Tasting Notes
Appearance - Dark-coppery with a pronounced bloom, stylish and well-made leaves with delicate tips
Aroma - Decidedly sweet with clear woody and toasty layers, not too different from ripened prunes and hints of peaches
Taste - Smooth and supple cup with a pleasing sweetness all round the palate, with exquisite notes of hazelnuts and hyacinths around the edges and ephemeral aroma of muscat grapes that lingers long after

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the shelf life of products?

All Vahdam Teas have a shelf-life of 3 years from the Date of Picking/Harvest. The 'Date of Expiry' are mentioned on the bottom of all our boxes.

Where are your Teas from?

We source our teas from over 150 renowned plantations and small individual farms in India. Within the country, we procure from 5 popular tea-producing regions, namely: Darjeeling, Assam, Nilgiri, Kangra, and Sikkim.

How are the Teas packaged?

After sourcing our teas directly from plantations within hours of harvest, we bring them to our state-of-the-art tea facility in New Delhi, India. The teas then go through rigorous rounds of cleaning, sorting, quality testing to remove any impurities/dust/foreign particles. Post 10+ quality checkpoints for leaf size, aroma, liquor, flavors etc. these are vacuum-packaged in opaque aluminum-lined bags using sophisticated machinery. These vacuum-bags are then stored in a dehumidified, temperature-controlled warehouse which ensures that the teas remain garden-fresh and maintain their character. Further, required quantities are packed in smaller vacuum-sealed packs which are boxed in the retail boxes and then sent over to our own delivery centers located in various parts of the world.

The quality of product is very good. Unfortunately the order arrived with a big delay and until today a part of tea ordered is missing.

Quality tea, packaged well, and excellent price

My usual tea is "Elmwood Inns -- Ying Ming Yunan black tea". I have a subscription for that tea that gets me a pound every two months. It is still my favorite.I purchased this Assam Black because my subscription leaves me slightly short. It comes in a resealable, opaque bag. The tea looks fine, with no sticks or other adulterants. I smells a little grassy when you smell it in the bag, but I didn't notice that once it was brewed. I steeped it for 3 minutes with one stir during the steeping (when I was in Chinatown in San Francisco that is what the woman who did a tea service for us did, so I've been doing it ever since). I don't over steep it because I don't want it bitter.I thought the tea was smooth, flavorful, and generally an excellent tea. It is a bit cheaper than my usual and will make a good tea to switch off with my usual Ying Ming Yunan. I'd buy it again.

Great tea

This is a delicious satisfying cup of tea. I like strong tea and this is perfect for me without having to use too much of the tea leaves.

Very flavorful tea

Nice, flavorful tea. I've been looking for a tea with more flavor than the standard tea bags and this is it. The price is excellent as well
